YIC 2027

Introduction & Objectives

The ECCOMAS Young Investigators Conference YIC2027 is the 9th in the series of International Conferences, organized since 2012 with the main purpose of bringing together, within a relaxed environment, students and young researchers developing their work on all areas related with computational science and engineering.

The main objective of the Young Investigators Conferences is to promote dialogue on the recent advancements on computational methods in applied sciences and to gather young promising researchers and PhD students in the field fostering collaboration and exchange of ideas.

YIC2027 will be organized in Torino, Italy, from September 8-10, 2027 and will take place at the “Politecnico di Torino Engineering Campus, Building R”, a building that combines large teaching spaces with study areas, while symbolically linking the campus and the city through a dialogue between innovation and historical memory.

YIC 2027 will also feature the prestigious ECCOMAS PhD Olympiad, where the best PhD theses, selected by national associations, will be presented and evaluated for the final prize.

The conference is scheduled to span three days, starting on Wednesday morning and concluding on Friday afternoon. Each day will be opened by an invited plenary lecture, illustrating the cutting edge of research in the field of Computational Mechanics.

The conference will feature parallel sessions throughout the three-day event. These sessions will be coordinated by young scientists with expertise in conference topics, who serve as chairpersons.

Round-tables will provide an opportunity to discuss on the latest advancements in the Conference topics and explore possibilities for public and private funding.
